During the operational-search activities, one of the leaders of the terrorist group Palaev Kulmahmad Karimovich, born in 1974, resident of Vamar village, was detained.
When examining the scene, located at an altitude of 2,800 meters above sea level and at a distance of 1 km from the state border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, authorities found and seized one sniper rifle with 200 rounds, one Kalashnikov machine gun with 150 rounds, one anti-tank grenade launcher with three shells, four Kalashnikov assault rifles with five magazines and 135 rounds, five hand grenades and two Makarov pistols with 50 rounds.
Criminals were asked to voluntarily surrender to law enforcement agencies several times. However, each time they ignored the proposals, did not give up their criminal activities and hid from the authorities.
On May 18, in the center of Rushon of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), armed terrorists groups used weapons, ammunition and explosives to attack a convoy of vehicles of a special anti-terrorist unit of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan, killing one officer and seriously injuring 13 servicemen.
